Confirmation takes place for students during the spring of their sixth grade year.  At baptism, children are initiated into the new covenant in Jesus Christ and into membership in the Church, Christ’s body in the world. For many, this happens when they are very young. Others are baptized at the time of confirmation. 

Through the Rite of Confirmation, sixth graders personally renew the covenant declared at baptism, witness to God’s work in their lives, affirm their commitment to Christ and His Holy Church, and receive the outpouring of the Holy Spirit through the laying on of hands enabling their lifelong journey toward holiness. 

Confirmation is led by clergy and adult leaders teaching the basic tenets of the historic Christian faith, the history and theology of the Wesleyan revival movement, and the practical meaning of church membership in agreement with the Global Methodist Church Transitional Book of Doctrines & Discipline and approved catechism.
